Ministries at
Cedarbrook
“God has given each of us the ability to do certain things
well.”
Romans 12:5 New Living Translation
“A
spiritual gift is given to each of us as a means of helping
the entire church.”
1
Corinthians 12:7 New Living Translation
At Cedarbrook, we believe that every Christ-follower is
called to serve and help others. We also believe that each
and every Christ-follower has been gifted by God “to do
certain things well” – things that bless people, change
lives, and build up the church.
Simply
put, Christianity is not a spectator sport. We are invited,
urged and commanded to be participants in the work that God
is doing in and through his church.
What
things do you do well? What kinds of things are you
interested in? How can you use the gifts and interests you
have to help others? Where can you ‘plug in’ to what God is
doing in and through Cedarbrook and make an impact?
Take a
look at the ministry information below. Here you will get a brief
glimpse of some of the ‘how and where’ you can help people
in our church and surrounding community. Each column
represents one of the “3 B’s” of our Purpose Statement.
If you
have questions about specific ministries, just click on the
ministry that you want more information about. If you would
like to know how you could get involved in serving, please
contact Ken Jackson at 301-528-6702 or email him at
ministry@cedarbrook.org.
When it
comes to serving others, we would encourage you to "jump in
with both feet." It is central to what it means to be a
Christ-follower. It is a great way to build relationships
and further the cause of Christ. Experience and training
certainly help but are not necessary for most ministry
areas. We will be happy to train you if something is of
interest to you.
We
would love for you to find that place in Cedarbrook where
you fit – the place where you can connect with others,
contribute your gifts and abilities, and celebrate all that
God wants to do in you and through you as you help others.
We
offer our Discovery III
equipping seminar twice a year, specifically to help people
discover, develop, and deploy the gifts they have received
from God.
